A musical ride on a mercurial donkey deep into the soul of a small Spanish town
Spend a year in the sunshine of Southern Spain with a poet and his constant companion, a little silver donkey called Platero.
Spain's best loved writer, the Nobel Prize winning Juan Ramon Jimenez, lived in Moguer, a small whitewashed town near Seville overlooking fields of vines and pomegranates at the beginning of the twentieth century.
His best loved collection of stories paints an affectionate picture of his hometown where you meet the characters and experience the gentle pattern of their lives in the timeless Andalusian landscape.
Mike Maran, last seen at Easdale Island Hall in
Italia 'n' Caledonia teams up with internationally renowned Georgian director Levan Tsuladze and puppeteer Nino Namitcheishvili to create a beautiful adaptation of these delightful stories which are accompanied by a classical guitar score especially recorded for this production by Craig Ogden.
