Wingin' It - Adam Bulley & Chas MacKenzie
Wingin' It are a fresh and dynamic acoustic duo comprising Chas MacKenzie (guitar) and Adam Bulley (mandolin and guitar). Winners at the Celtic Connections '07 'Danny Kyle' Awards, and have since performed at festivals all over Scotland.
"they were a dazzling, jazzy, very funny, breath of fresh air. They left some traditionalist mouths hanging open, but the boys absolutely nailed it."
Stuart Morrison - The Herald
"they drew tunes from across the spectrum of jazz, folk and Americana, inventively arranged and played with terrific brio and flair"
Sue Wilson - The Scotsman
"Dazzling interplay between guitar and mandolin and mezmerizing jazzy riffs are the band's hallmark and they had the balls to knock out a fantastic acoustic version of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" to a folkie crowd champing at the Fisher-bit - respect!"
Tom Harland - Garden Sessions review of Stonehaven Folk Festival
Angus Lyon (accordion, piano) and Ruaridh Campbell (fiddle, viola) are taking Scottish music into an exciting new dimension. As their brilliantly innovative 18 Months Later album confirms, their music is, at once, rich in tradition and boldly forward-looking, with arrangements that expand and develop melodic ideas with imagination, subtlety and
brio. Drawing on influences including Argentinean tango master Astor Piazzolla, the European classical school and New York jazz as well as Scottish tune forms, this is music with genuine heart and soul.
"(18 Months Later) ...is an album full of invention, energy, musicality, subtlety, great ideas and the sheer joy of making music, which is stunning from the first track"
The Herald
Both duos will play separately at first, then join together for a finale
