"My tip for the top - don't forget the name Kim Edgar."
Janice Forsyth, BBC Radio Scotland
"Edgar's original songs are often very moving, literate, allusive and expressively sung - and destined to travel far beyond their Scottish genesis."
***** Scotland On Sunday
Edinburgh based folk/pop songwriter Kim Edgar is a warm and engaging performer, whose songs combine compelling narratives and strong, piano-led melodies, indicative of her studies in English Language & Literature and her classical piano training.
Described as "a comfort blanket for the disillusioned soul", Kim's songs capture distilled emotions, which increasingly wide audiences are responding to, following the critical acclaim of her debut album, 'Butterflies and Broken Glass', produced by Mattie Foulds and featuring Karine Polwart and her band, alongside musicians including Mairi Campbell (The Cast) and Greg Lawson (Moishe's Bagel, Mr McFall's Chamber).
One eighth of new supergroup "The Burns Unit" which includes Karine Polwart, King Creosote and Emma Pollock, Kim has also toured as the special guest of Karine Polwart (2008) and Dean Owens (2009).
"one of Scotland's undiscovered gems... better than anything top-selling Amy McDonald and Sandi Thom have managed... superb." Daily Record
